Centuries of Chinese bronze craftsmanship condense Zen essence within this gilded polychrome Ruyi free-posture Kwan-yin / Kuan-yin / Guanyin (Avalokiteshvara / Avalokiteśvara / Avalokitesvara). Integrally cast from fine bronze via ancient lost-wax casting, it strictly follows Ming and Qing canonical rules for Avalokiteśvara statuary. The swirling circular cloud nimbus halo houses a diminutive transcendent Buddha at its apex, a canonical marker of Han-region Buddhist iconography. Layered undulating wave carvings cover the pedestal with supporting lotus sprigs, inheriting the symbolic lore of Water-Moon Kuan-yin ferrying mortals across affliction’s ocean.

The Bodhisattva rests in leisurely asymmetrical stance; glossy gild overlays upper raiment while azurite and cinnabar mineral pigments gradient naturally across lower hem. Every chased line flows seamlessly, with time-honored pigment fixation preventing paint peeling.

Rare in production for its combined halo and custom wave base, the piece bears dual value of antique metallurgical craft and Buddhist civilization. Highly sought after by Western oriental antiquity collectors, it functions both as refined desktop ornament and inheritable premium devotional artifact.
