Traditional statues of Lord Guan usually adopt the classic pattern with a single dragon base, horizontal blade and one hand stroking beard. This piece breaks the inherent statue template with an original vertical design resting on a five-dragon auspicious cloud base, featuring intricate three-dimensional layers and far stronger artistic tension than conventional works of the same theme. Crafted with bronze as the body, the entire statue is elaborately decorated with polychrome, gilding and silver inlay. Dragon patterns are chiseled on the armor and robes with rich, steady colors and exquisite carving, combining solemn religious ritual attributes with outstanding artistic appreciation value.

His right hand holds the Green Dragon Crescent Blade upright with blade facing upward, different from the prevalent horizontal or trailing blade designs on ordinary Lord Guan statues. His left hand holds a treasure bowl filled with auspicious wealth ornaments. It transcends the traditional single symbolic meaning of loyalty and exorcism, integrating the dignity of the Martial Sage and the wealth-giving connotation of the God of Martial Wealth into one figure.

His facial expression is dignified yet not ferocious, with solemn eyes and a long beard falling on his chest. The restrained facial carving delivers an awe-inspiring aura to ward off evil spirits while embodying the essence of benevolence, loyalty and righteousness, avoiding the rigid, overly fierce facial stereotype of most similar statues.

Five directional banners [ Five Elements: ‘Jin’ (Metal), ‘Mu’ (Wood), ‘Shui’ (Water), ‘Huo’ (Fire), ‘Tu’ (Earth) ] stand vertically on his back as the signature exclusive design of this statue, corresponding to the five cardinal directions of east, west, south, north and center. It symbolizes governing fortune from all directions, suppressing evil spirits from five paths and attracting wealth from eight sides. This high-ranking ritual configuration is rarely applied to ordinary household Lord Guan statues. Five auspicious dragons coil around the auspicious cloud plinth to uphold the statue. Compared with common Lord Guan statues fitted with single-dragon or double-dragon bases, the five-dragon setup represents supreme rank, symbolizing imperial prestige, stabilizing dwelling foundation, dispelling negative energy and prospering family fortune with a grander momentum.

Integrating four rare structural designs including five-dragon base, five directional banners, upright Guandao and treasure bowl, this statue boasts highly original modeling, intricate craftsmanship and multi-layered symbolic implications. It stands out from homogenized ordinary Lord Guan ornaments, holding unique scarcity and promising appreciation potential for folk culture collection, Taoist statue thematic collection and high-end feng shui display.
