By tracing the eastward spread of Himalayan Buddhist sculpture and researching the origin of Forty-Eight Vows recorded in Pure Land scriptures, we merge the benevolent spirit of traditional Chinese Confucianism and transcendent Zen of ancient Indian Buddhism, discovering shared aesthetic wisdom across civilizations within a single bronze artwork. Referring to epigraphic records of ancient statues, we track the evolution of lotus ornament from primordial India to China; with the artistic standard of Western sculpture appreciation, we scrutinize delicate chiseled folds of robes. Following the rhythm of phonetics and verse, we catch lingering echo of Sanskrit chants from the Buddha’s tranquil silence, and condense boundless saving compassion in refined literary wording based on poetic translation aesthetics.
Crafted with traditional Nepalese lost-wax bronze casting plus refined Ming-Qing sculptural wisdom, this mud-gilded Amitabha sits in full lotus on double-layer upturned lotus throne, holding sacred nectar bowl in left hand—the canonical symbol of Western Pure Land’s patron bestowing blessing and delivering all beings. Thick natural aged brown patina wraps the bronze body, with fragmented residual gold hidden in texture cracks; all robe carving complies with orthodox Tibetan Buddhist iconography. Blending Himalayan sacred charm and exquisite Chinese craftsmanship, it brings family blessing for altar worship and calms worldly troubles as study decor, a precious collectible among Pure Land bronze sculptures.
If you welcome and enshrine this Buddha Statue upon your spiritual connection, please venerate it strictly in accordance with Buddhist rituals.
